Transferring from the University of Pittsburgh to North Park College [now North Park University] was a difficult adjustment. It was a hard and lonely first quarter singing the Lord’s song in a foreign land.
But, once negotiated, North Park became the place where I made some of my dearest friends and most treasured memories. Now in academia, North Park is somewhat a footnote in my life. After all when someone asks where I studied they are asking about my PhD not my BA. And Notre Dame is much more impressive than North Park to the uninitiated. But now I am beginning to see North Park through undergraduate eyes again, in particular those of my son Kyle who will be a senior at North Park this year. The promotional piece he has created for NPU reminds me of just what a special place it was, is and hopefully will be for many years to come.
