My old friend and one of Pandomag.com‘s stellar photographers, Justin Renney, was involved in putting this amazing project together. He was Director of Photography, Music Director, filmed every scene, and is listed as an Associate Producer on the page called “The Team.” It’s an interactive movie, out now on DVD and available for a limited time from iTunes as an iPhone app for only 99 cents. [See trailer below.] The app can be played/viewed for four and a half hours without repeating.

The look is raucous, nervy, taut, and excellent. The music is an in-your-face collage– Divorce, Lashes, and many others– of high powered alternative.
The iPhone app is particularly intriguing. The mobile look, feel, sound and navigability are all apptastic. Graphics hiss off the screen. Each scene has a glossy, dangerous, memorable look, as if darkly surreal album art has come to life and is looking to you for direction. At one point the embattled hero is sprinting down an LA street in a lamb suit, a nightmare image which will torture your subconscious for a month’s worth of truncated fever dreams.
“The Weathered Underground” works, baby– like “OK Computer” meets Charles Bukowski and Grand Theft Auto. H. R. Giger is calling. He wants his subconscious back. This is going to catch on. This is going viral and huge. This is only the beginning.
Here’s how the producers describe it:
“A groundbreaking interactive DVD that plays like a video version of the “Choose Your Own Adventure Books” as the story follows 21-year-old Eric (Michael Ciriaco, the character for whom the audience makes choices) as he deals with a skull crunching breakup. Eric is a struggling musician who works a side job and just broke up with the greatest love of his life, the somewhat insane yet adorable Liz (Brea Grant, Heroes, H2). Now you, the viewer, must guide Eric through one insane evening with Criminals, Drugs and Damsels while deciding whether Eric will win back the love of his life or crumble into Moral Decay… His fate is now in your hands…”
“The Weathered Underground allows the viewer via remote control or mouse (online) to control the story ultimately choosing a story of redemption or debauchery. Featuring over 30 different endings and 1,000 choices. The film can be played/viewed for up to four hours, over and over without getting the same plot line!”
Please purchase several today. Get it on DVD and as an iPhone app. “The Weathered Underground” is a thrilling adventure and your best multi-platform entertainment value.
