Seems like every year someone develops a new “hottest chile pepper in the world.” (“Chile” is the preferred spelling of Chile Pepper Magazine.) Many years ago, the habanero was the king. A couple years ago, the bhut jolokia was crowned the hottest. Recently, a Brit developed the naga viper, a hybrid. Now these Aussies claim theirs is the hottest. And — strange, but true — some military experts have been examining these peppers for possible use in weapons.
