“Story: Nirvana were playing at Dallas club Trees. The security guard was a guy (singer, I think) from local band Ethyl Merman. Apparently, he was irritated that Kurt had damaged the monitor mixer during some of his antics earlier in the show. The owner of the mixer was a friend of the security guard’s and, irritated, he took the stage dive as an opportunity to attack and prevent Kurt from returning to the stage, at which point Kurt, perhaps a bit panicked, began whacking him with his guitar.” – ArthurIsRodriguez
