Thanks to David Handelman for this:
In 1987 and 1988 Paul McCartney and Elvis Costello recorded an album’s worth of collaborative material which was never released. Burning Wood has the demos for some of those songs. According to Sal Nunziato, the blog’s proprietor, some of the finished material from those sessions, “trickled out and found homes on records such as Costello’s “Spike” and “Mighty Like Rose” and McCartney’s “Flowers In The Dirt” and “Off The Ground,” as well as some single b-sides.” However, the bulk of it has yet to be released and these demos give an idea of the depth and breadth of the material created in the sessions. Further, says Nunziati, “If you’ve never heard them before, then this should be a treat. I personally find these 8 tracks to be some of the boys’ finest work.”
