I never read the Hunger Games books about which the lyrics of this song were written. That being said, this is an artistically well done video. It has an eerie, yet light, other worldly quality to it. The natural world potrayed in the video would seem almost heavenly, with Taylor looking mystical and wearing a loose flowing white dress, if it were not for the pending sense of doom exuded throughout the song. The lyrics talk of not being safe until they are inside. I’m assuming the world of the Hunger Games is a mystical but scary place to be. Taylor Swift is an impressive songwriter. It is refreshing to see her perform a song that has a soulful feel, unlike so many of her other more fast paced songs about romance.
