Saw Bob Dylan perform tonight at White River Amphitheatre in Indianapolis. His voice sounds like Jimmy Durante chewing rocks. That 60s Dylan is the stuff I always go back to: The Gaslight Tapes, Blonde on Blonde, Another Side of Bob Dylan, Freewheelin’, Bringing It All Back Home, Highway 61 Revisited, The Times They Are A-Changin’, and early 70s Blood on the Tracks and the bootleg Blind Boy Grunt. This is the third time I’ve seen Dylan, and his performances have never come up to the quality of those albums.
