Standing Room Only starts at $400. The price goes up significantly at this level, probably because now the beautiful people and the high rollers will be showing up. My bankbook isn’t quite in that league, which is why for the last two Giants Octobers I’ve attended the earlier rounds, which are much more affordable.
My attendance at the 2002 World Series was a lucky fluke – I actually happened to be in town for a conference and my brother happened to get free tickets at his office in the Financial District. My only expenditure was the brats and soda I gratefully bought for myself and my brother. I sent him a note letting him know that if any more free tickets come his way I could help him make sure they wouldn’t go to waste.
