As Rocket J. Squirrel used to say, “Holey smokes!” Though I doubt Rockey was referring to Flogging Molly, his words fit. Celtic punk heroes, Flogging Molly are returning to the Northwest for two nights, one in Portland at the Roseland Theater on March 11 and one at Seattle’s gorgeous Paramount Theater on March 12.
For anyone still unfamiliar with the now legendary Flogging Molly, drop what you’re doing and find them on Youtube. If you’re a fan of the Pogues or Dropkick Murhpys, you’ll love FM. Banjos, fiddles, penny whistles and accordions aren’t typical rock band instruments, but all of the above are played at a Flogging Molly gig. Add the roaring vocals of native Irish singer Dave King and you have a raucous show. As of right now, tickets are still available but they’re sure to sell out so hurry. Do not pass go, do not collect your $200. Get your Flogging Molly tickets and if you’re disappointed, I will take full blame. But you won’t be disappointed. I’ve seen FM about half a dozen times now at least and they NEVER put on a boring show.
