Seattle-based songwriter, singer and multi-instrumentalist Rob Middleton has returned to the scene and is preparing an album’s worth of songs for release. Working with him on this project is Bill Ackerlund, an old friend from the ‘hood. Rob writes everything and performs everything. Bill is the engineer and co-producer. They have been gracious enough to share two awesome tunes with you here. Thus, East Portland Blog is proud to present to you the world premiere of “In Your Honor” and “Every Other Sunday.” Please listen and enjoy! Middleton and company are planning on a vinyl release for the album when the moment is right. Keep your eyes focused on East Portland Blog for further word on the album.
Middleton has a long history in Seattle music. He played drums in the popular late 80s club act, Paisley Sin. He was one of the founders of Y Records, an indie label with a goodly number of quality releases in the mid-90s. He sang, played guitar and wrote most of the songs for Flake, a 90s rock combo with delightful melodic overtones. The two albums released by Flake, Box and Wild Cool Anger, are two of the finest unsung Seattle records of the 90s.
