Google Play Music/All Access is More Usable Than Spotify, By Vincent Jurgens

googlemusicGoogle Play Music/All Access joins the list of “specific” streaming music services, like Rhapsody and Spotify, where you can pick specific songs and make specific playlists, as well as explore random musical palettes. Contrast this with purely semi-random services like Pandora, or the new iRadio, where you can only hint at what you want, and the service makes you and invisible queue of music like that.

Google Play Music/All Access’s (difficult identity there) experience is a bit more useable than Spotify, with finding and playing songs fairly easy to figure out (though getting into the “app” from play.google.com is challenging.) With Spotify, I always have trouble remembering even how to simply play a song (double-click I think.) With Google Play, there is always a nice “play” triangle icon available here and there.

I’ve just tried it on my Mac, via the Safari web page, and it’s been working fine.
