Powerpacked, feedback-overloaded, garage-born Seattle blues rock dynamo, My Goodness, has released a new video for the tunes “Bottle” and “Say You’re Gone,” which you can see below. The video features a mature man who looks a little like East Portland Davey. The old coot strips down to his boxers and takes a bath in a vintage outdoor tub on a barge in Seattle’s Lake Union. He holds his breath underwater and then pops up young and invigorated and chases a young hottie in a granny dress through the streets of the Ballard or Fremont neighborhoods in Jet City.
My Goodness’ music is spattered like a crime scene with the blood of violent old school Seattle rock influences like Nirvana, Queens of the Stone Age and Murder City Devils. Most importantly they are meltdown talented songwriters and musicians. Andy Lum is the loudest groove-centric drummer I’ve heard since Led Zep’s Bonham, Singer/guitarist Joel Schneider has a raging vocal style which he combines with devastating, soul-consuming guitar work. They have recently expanded their lineup to a three piece, adding the most excellent Cody Votolato on brawny, metronomic bass (he’s also in the Blood Brothers).
