Renowned guitarist and songwriter Richard Thompson will release Still, an album of new music produced by Jeff Tweedy, on June 23, 2015 via Fantasy Records (Concord Music Group). Today, Thompson is sharing another peek at this masterful new album with the track “Broken Doll.” Thompson said of the track, ” ‘Broken Doll’ deals with characters with mental illness. Jeff Tweedy overdubbed some elements that add to the sense of unease on the track-notably a Marxophone, a Victorian instrument that gives a hammered dulcimer-like sound, and a chromatic and dissonant organ, which is swirling in the background.”
