I am so happy to be one of those bands you just might catch at Sea Monster Lounge. Catch me this Saturday with The Staxx Brothers and my 12th Street Horns. Andrew Nunez has built an Empire of funk, based on a Constitution of Jazz; founded upon on a deeply authentic Declaration of Soul, amended by all the genres that support such basic and complex sonic freedoms.
Andrew pays musicians, Andrew is a musician. I remember Andrew once sold the place and Seattle started falling apart like a Batman movie where Bruce Wayne thinks he had enough and retires to his mansion and turns out the lights.
The rumor I heard was that Andrew realized he was The Seamonster Guy. Maybe he is Batman. He came back weeks later to quell a city in chaos, and then ultimately expanded his hideout.
His heroes are immense. Joe Doria’s own superpowers are undeniable. His cape is invisible. His B-3 he carries weighs 40,000 pounds. In the action movie when they change his name, he will be Italian guy. He’s not playing Saturday night, but he plays a lot of nights.
He’s in the Seamonster Hall of Fame. He’s got so much game, and like Andy Coe, Jimmy James, Thaddeus Turner, and Melissa Montalto, this river runs deep, because of the company Seamonster keeps.
I am proud to say, Joe Doria plays all over my albums, The 12th Street Blues and Hot Chocolate. He can’t fly but his fingers can.
– Musician and writer Davin Michael Stedman has many musical ventures and is one of the driving forces behind the Staxx Brothers. He is planning a tour of Nigeria for 2018.
