After the Portland Trailblazers’ win over the Indiana Pacers last Thursday night, comedian Cedric the Entertainer got up from his courtside seat afterward and took Coach Terry Stotts’ place at the podium for the postgame press conference:
Thanks to the graciousness of the Trailblazers, I’ve been in that briefing room a couple of times. Usually, the mood in there is pretty subdued, even after wins, so having Cedric the Entertainer, a long-time Blazers fan, come in with his schtick had to have been quite an eye-opener for the beat reporters used to the normal routine.
The best part was the reporter’s quip that Cedric was better in two minutes than Stotts for the whole year. Credit to Stotts for his good humor about it all.
