Heather O’Neill is a supremely gifted songwriter working out of Chicago. Take a listen to her Transmute EP. A few months ago she sent her amazing acoustic track “Red Roses for Lady Blue.” I loved it then and still do. As I said, the guitar playing on this track is haunting and tender and perfectly complements her voice. It’s the first tune here and I commend it to your enjoyment.
“Transmute” and “Nicotine and Neon,” are two scorching alt-rockers with melodic turns which never fail to surprise. She has the gift of finding hooks outside the obvious. I can’t get enough. The musicianship on these tracks is freshly fantastic also. Live, love and learn:
