On the “Casino Road” to Classic Video, by Davin Michael Stedman

I had to go the top of Snoqualmie Pass to meet up with the TV drama legend Jim Charleston to discuss shooting my video for ‘Casino Road’ before I head back to Jamaica.

Jim believes in me as much as anybody, save my Viking father Bruce.

He said “get 2 g’s and we’ll make my last great music video.”

In 2010, Jim turned me loose and let me make this outrageous music video for ‘Oh Carolina’. No script, no story board, just locations, locations, locations, and dreaaaaaams. He had a cheap camera and advice. But he let me do what I wanted to do. We lit Phone booths on fire man.

Jim said yes, then he handed me a beer and put on Bruce Springsteen at the Hammersmith Ballroom 1975.

I am on a mission man. Stephanie Walbon push out that beautiful healthy baby and let’s make a Rock & Roll country classic.

This goes out to Wyatt Powell. We used to sing ‘No Women No Cry’ to ladies back in our school days in the hallway harmonizing like Boy II Men. We’d flip the lyrics and toss lines back and forth Sinatra & Dean style.

We were trouble. Double trouble.

Davin’s new song has been released and has become a global earworm and Caribbean dancehall hit. Listen here on Reggaeville: DAVIN MICHAEL STEDMAN & ANTHONY RED ROSE – FREE YOUR MIND FEAT. SLY & ROBBIE WITH LENKY MARSDEN. The video is now available on Youtube.
