John Mellencamp has today released a politically charged video to accompany his Delta Blues slide guitar version of “Eyes on the Prize,” a song closely associated with the African American civil rights movement of the 20th Century. Mellencamp’s raspy song delivery and the unsettling black and white images displayed in the video fuse rhetorically, delivering a compelling work of motion picture art.
