Congratulations to Marco Collins. He’s going back on the air.
I grew up listening to Marco on The End. He is featured in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame for his roll in making Seattle very very very very famous for becoming the final frontier of this Revolution we still love, called Rock & Roll.
He is an important part of that story, like Alan Freed and Wolfman Jack.
He’s going on the air at KEXP, a station that comes from the rib of Hendrix’s Axis Bold As Love LP, when his sophomore album opens as such,
“Good evening, ladies and gentlemen.
Welcome to radio station EXP.
Tonight we are featuring an interview
with a very peculiar looking gentleman
who goes by the name of Mr. Paul
Corusoe on the dodgy subject of are
there or are there not flying saucers
or UFOs?”Growing up in Seattle and becoming a musician has been a great adventure, getting to know these super heroes that seemed like Giants when I was teenager. I am happy to call Marco a friend.
It’s a blessing getting to know these seminal figures of Rock & Roll, and see them doing well.
It took a village and some incredibly good fortune to make Seattle the Rock & Roll town it was and sometimes still is.
A lot of good men and women were scarred and lost during the Gold Rush. Sometimes the good times are more dangerous than the downturn.
I am glad we have Marco Collins on the air to tell the tale and to do what he has always done best.
Break f☆cking bands.
