“This song is about a woman driving in the middle of the night after a traumatic experience,” says Verluna. “She’s lost, confused, hurt, and afraid. Luscinia is the name of the family of birds that the Nightingale is a part of and in myth, such as Philomela in Greece, the Nightingale symbolizes a lost soul or someone in purgatory. A sorrowful lament after that soul was wronged.”
“Luscinia” is part of a concept album called Oku from Verluna, AKA Alex Katsaropoulos, a songwriter and producer from Chicago who was inspired by a poetic journal by Matsuo Basho called The Narrow Road to Oku.The album was released on September 21st, 2018. Dig it, if you dare.
