No one believes me when I tell them that the finest wines in all the world come from Wales. No one, that is, except the national tourism board of Wales. Apparently they and I have the same tastes when it comes to grapes.
When I asked Mike Hughes about Welsh wine he said, “Lol… Just Lol…”
When I asked Dan “Label Mode” Amor about Welsh vineyards, he said, “I know very little about Welsh wine and vineyards, I’m afraid. I did once, in my formative years, get thrown out of a work paid for wine tasting session in South Wales because I said one of the white wines tasted like mouth wash. I know that Gwyneth Glyn’s record label is called ‘Recordiau Gwinllan’. That’s about it, really!” Where did Dan work when he was thrown out of the wine tasting party? Good question. He won’t tell.
Thus, Oregonians keen to visit Wales should perhaps expect to share our surfeit of expertise in vineyard planting and winemaking with the Welsh locals who may need some mentoring in that area.
In the meantime, enjoy this fine tune from Serol Serol, a band in which Dan Amor’s younger brother George is a member. Serol Serol is on the rise. Never doubt them.
