I am proud of how many lovely Women I turned on to Brandi Carlile in the mid 2000s. A few were like, “I don’t know”, and I said, “give her another listen, she’s on another level.”
Now they never miss her. Sometimes it takes a minute to remember what real food is supposed to taste like. There’s a little brown sugar in there, but there’s a whole lot more.
Brandi is my favorite singer working today. Nobody is singing live “off the floor” vocals like she does today. Nobody.
She’s a throwback to the days when singer-songwriters had to really sing and really could write. Her twins wrote the song “The Story” though. She has a great band to match.
Listening to Dolly’s cover now.
I love Brandi Carlile. I had goose bumps when she popped up at The Grammies in A Star is Born. Then she made it really happen and picked up the hardware.
She simply delivers.
Best Columbia Records signing since Dylan and Springsteen. Go see her LIVE at The Gorge this Summer.
Shout out to another Brandi fan and friend of mine who better go see her at the Gorge, Colby Adams. At work on Sunday morn, she asked if I ever heard of Brandi Carlile.
I smiled like this was mischief, and just said, “guuuurrrl.”
