We went to the Mountain Top. I brought 11 musicians in my Soul United Allstar squad for a 4 hour session at Stevens Pass Mountain Resort. The Captain is very chill. It won’t be the last Summit. This is something I want to do around the world, with King Porter Stomp alums like Ras Jones, Badj Whipple, and Jonathan Waller.
We played my English Sherlock Soul collaborations with Lewis Harding and Scott Rowe.
We played the Anthony Cameron production ‘Free Your Mind’ and my title track ‘West Indian Rock’, and I played guitar on both songs.
And of course we played a bunch of Staxx Brothers staples featuring Tracy Ferrara charts with the 12th St Horns.
We’re building something. Daniel Oliver, Alex George, Jeremy From-Steel Beans, and Tom Wilkinson and I put a 12 hour day in. We met to rehearse at noon.
…and Amelia Albert got her Captain’s hat. She actually got two. Good things take time.
If I can just get this Tuff Gong hit to get me bookings and guarantees, this squad is ready to destroy festival stages around the world.

This is why I study history.
