From classical church boysinger to radical march songwriter and queer, inscrutable pop artist of his time, Antony Carle is a talent who leaves nobody indifferent and always finds somebody to listen.
As a “woke” child, Antony was very fond of his family’s 20th century album collection. He was fascinated and sometimes stimulated by the powerful, overfull voices, the residual, unusual sounds of bedroom lovers and the colorful album covers, particularly the ones featuring long and strong female artists. Inspired and tried by fire, he started singing ringtones at age 3, perfected self-presentation in school and performed obediently in church, where the leisurely elderly defined his talent as “the voice of an angel”.
He taught himself to play the piano and live large during his teenage years. He then decided to stop musical training for himself and everyone around him to focus on difference-making songwriting and developing his own lone soulful sound. Antony’s music is inspired by personal, relational, spiritual, scientific and universal experiences. It is reflective of the crime times he lives in, brimming with social injustices, broaching themes such as individuality, “being what you want to be,” heartbreak, superficiality, street economics and fear.
In Montréal, he raised up David Pimentel, aka Pomo, with whom he started a limitless band named, Nouvel Âge. This project allowed him to perform wild in the city, reform the localistic politics, and enhance his creative skills before winning at a solo career. He has walked tall and rubbed shoulders with fellow visionaries likw Ouri, who produced 3 next level tracks on his now legendary debut EP, The Moment. Antony “T Rex” Carle is an extremely charismatic artist who catalyzes a live show that nobody who sees it will ever forget.
