Just a few months after the reissue of their seminal ‘Boomy Tella’ LP, Britain’s THE CLAIM are back with their first original material since 1992. This reunion has them active as ever, writing and recording new material, filming their Brexit-inspired ‘Journey’ video, and gigging. Finally tomorrow brings the release of their long-awaited album ‘The New Industrial Ballads’. The Spill Magazine writes, “It would seem that The Claim has not missed a beat since reaching their pinnacle in the early 90s. Their new album is loaded with upbeat, catchy, jangly earworms with lyrics that are full of meaning. ‘Journey’ in particular holds great significance in a Brexit-plagued Britain”.
The band’s exquisite songs of love, loss and social commentary were a big influence on BLUR‘s early music. They also used to receive long love letters from MANIC STREET PREACHERS, who also performed their first ever London show supporting The Claim in 1989.
