“You can’t help the poor by being one of them.” – Abe Lincoln
The well-known, but misquoted verse from the Bible on wealth is not “Money is the root of all evil,” the real quote is, “The love of money is the root of all evil.” (1 Timothy 6:10) Wealth is actually neutral. Greed is bad. Charity is good. Don’t let guilty feelings creep in for striving to be wealthy and successful in your career and life. There is no reason one can’t be extremely wealthy and at the same time be a balanced, thoughtful person who makes a positive impact on society. If you have good intentions, it is virtuous to aim for wealth. If loved ones are being harmed or there is injustice, having no resources makes it very difficult to help.
When we create wealth we employ others, purchase goods, keep finance circulating and help the economy expand. Individuals who create wealth are aiding society. We live in an amazing era where new businesses are easier to start than ever before. Cloud technologies lower the barriers of entry in many industries. Take publishing, now anyone can promote their ideas online anytime or self-publish books and print on demand. Opportunities abound for those who are proactive and have the drive to succeed. Our universe is abundant, and abundance is our natural state. Grow to your potential, prosper, and make a positive impact on those around you and beyond
ACTIVITY –
· Close your eyes and visualize being wealthy for a couple minutes. Don’t just visualize, but actually feel what it would be like to be wealthy. For example, would your stress go away if you had $25M? Release the stress and actually have the feeling of wealth.
· Now, for a couple minutes, visualize the noble things you would do in the world if you were financially independent
· Now smile, wealth is headed towards you.
