BROOKLYN BASED DREAM-FOLK GROUP A. HARLANA RELEASE ATMOSPHERIC NEW SINGLE “IF I’M A BIRD”
A. HARLANA ON NATIONWIDE TOUR THROUGH THE SUMMER
(BROOKLYN) — Dream-folk group A. harlana have just released a new single titled “If I’m a Bird.” The track is an atmospheric acoustic lullaby, featuring Juno Roome’s soft croon that builds into a saxophone-lead crescendo and ends in pure dream-folk bliss. Impose Magazine called the track “a searing slice of dream folk, and another sign of more amazing things to come.”
Lead singer Juno Roome had this to say about the track: “This tune began in 2009 [when I was a teenager], when I used to write sappy love songs,” says Juno. “I would come back to it often, once in 2011, adjusting, writing more of it. Then again in 2013, when I met a couple of people that I really wanted this song to speak to. Then again in 2018/2019, when it became the song it is today.”
“Songs I’ve written in the past usually don’t tend to stay with me — I think that’s because I’m always changing and I want to make how I feel in a reasonably contemporary fashion; but something about the sweet directness and candor of tune made me keep coming back.”

Since the release of their most recent EP “Ada Belle” in January 2019, the band have secured some early critical praise. Chill Filtr called the band “[a] beautiful exposition of the power of connection through love,” while Girl Underground Music found the band “sensually poised with a confident gaze.” The Big Takeover cited the band’s “wistful, nostalgic atmosphere [that is] all their own.”
