French-Caribbean singer Adeline (pronounced ad-uh-leen) has released a sizzlin’ new summer jam, the disco-inflected burner “When I’m Alone”. Released July 26 on Razor-N-Tape Records, the single bundle includes remixes by Jaques Renault, Dirty Channels, and J-Kriv & Peter Matson.
“When I’m Alone is my homage to disco,” says Adeline. “It’s a tribute to my heroes of the era (Sylvester, Linda Clifford, Chic, Candi Staton). Morgan and I wrote the song in 3 hours. After the many years we spent respectively in disco bands, it’s as if the song had been sleeping in us for years and was ready rise”
A well known voice in the dance music scene due to her long-running role as the lead singer of NYC disco outfit Escort, Adeline’s recent debut as a solo artist is has captivated the press and tastemakers across fashion, music and more. Following her last show at NYC’s C’mon Everybody tonight she’ll head to Japan for a week of shows before heading to Funk on the Rocks, where she was invited to perform the Chromeo-curated show that also features Big Freeda and Thievery Corp. She was recently featured in an “Artist Portrait”with fashion brand La Ligne. which also features her track “Before” in their latest ad campaign starring Olivia Wilde.
Adeline’s solo debut, self-titled [ad•uh•leen], was released in late 2018, and was co-produced with Morgan Wiley (Hercules & Love Affair, Midnight Magic). The album is a mix of soul, r&b, funk and dance music, and gives nods to such greats as Chaka Khan, Prince, Curtis Mayfield & Sylvester, while remaining contemporary.
