“When I first heard ‘Ballad of the Poor Child’ written by my friend Diana Jones, it hit me hard and it made me cry,” says Anna Egge. “When I played it for Iris DeMent the first time she cried too. This song is for all of the children suffering from poverty, illness and injustice here at home, on our borders, and all over the world. So many of us want to be able to do something. Maybe speaking up and out for those who cannot, is the first step.”
