Behold the latest from woke, substantive, LA-based, glam rockers Populuxe. Their harmonious vocal arrangements, soft psychedelia and dark night of the soulful lyrics bring to mind the Beatles, Marvin Gaye, David Bowie, Simon & Garfunkel and the Holland-era Beach Boys.
Their new LP, Beauty in the Broken Place, has just been released and though the sound may lean retro, the lyrics reflect the turbulent times we can’t escape living in. It’s a concept album which holds a mirror to the Western cultural crisis by examining the Tree of Life Synagogue massacre.
