Enigmatic Swedish collective INTET release new single ‘Blind’

It’s been two years since their first single “Rebels” racked up nearly three million streams – on Spotify – and now the enigmatic, Swedish constellation INTET are back with their new, cinematic indie-pop track “Blind”.

Inspired by the likes of Fever Ray, Björk, iamamiwhoami and Sia, the song is a broody pop track, with a cinematic feel and sweeping choruses, embodying as much guitar balladry as it does melody and vulnerability. Every chord progression is placed with great intent, with the same relatable and melodic lyrics that fans of “Rebels” came to know and love.

The mysterious creators from Stockholm (a collective of designers, artists and producers) keep a low profile, with the ambition to keep the focus on their music and art, rather than the people behind it; their way of challenging the music industry’s ever-growing, narcissistic culture.

INTET’s frontman shrouds his face with a mask made of yarn, creating an unpleasant, yet vulnerable character that reinforces a notion of loneliness and longing. The mask is open to interpretation, but their music is for sure: melancholic pop tunes and imposing choirs that make you feel something, driven by synthetic arpeggios and memorable basslines.

INTET is like a bouquet of questions, squeezed into a wry desperate hug. In a world where you should aim for success and strength, INTET is just longing for belonging. INTET is you and I, us and them, and – perhaps – nobody at all. In the midst of success and FOMO – discovering the strength of vulnerability – INTET just wants to be a part of it and out of sight; waiting for something that’s never enough.
