“I remember when I first sang the chorus of Change,” said Tasso Smith, the man behind the Thom Sawyr project, “I was on my back patio in Highland Park strumming my guitar. It just came out, like a uncontrollable bellow of frustration from an article I had read about the medical industry lobbyists in Washington DC. It broke my heart and I remember crying while writing the rest. The hope here is that together, we can figure out how to solve the issues that exist in our world today.”
Thom Sawyr is a project inspired by frustration with the status quo. After touring with bands like Panic! At the Disco, Walk the Moon, and P!nk, Tasso Smith moved into A&R and creative management where he continued to hone his skills as a songwriter. He now presents Thom Sawyr as an illumination of the strife for a meaningful existence. In a time where music has fallen into the shallow depths of materialism and fame, Thom Sawyr offers perspective on what music should truly represent.
