The Sarandons’ is the first EP by the namesake “groovy-rock” group of five from Toronto, will be released on Friday, December 13th. A brand new experience carefully built by the band to gift the fans with an “enriched and adorned” selection of six captivating pieces. From the strongly instrumental ballad ‘Stormy Endings’, that braces its intense lyrics with a soft guitar, sliding into the country-inspired atmosphere of ‘Continental Divide’, where an obliging (to the melody) piano seems to rise from an old Western movie’s soundtrack, this EP carries on that catchy flavor of its first single ‘Worse or For Better’.
Dissimilarly, ‘Ports of Call’ merges together 70s-inspired guitar riffs, with 80s beats incursions for a completely different experience that will push the listener toward an indie rock journey. While the intimate ‘So Far’ recalls comforting memories of classic rock sounds, thanks also to beautiful guitar lines, ‘Don’t Mean Much’ grounds lots of its aura into smooth yet captivating vocals.
Overall, an intense, felt album that will show the public not only the irrefutable band’s music skills but also their deep knowledge of a more complex field, that of human feelings so wisely and differently touched, through each of these six songs.
[According to the band’s website, a video to accompany “Worse or For Better” will be released soon.]
