APOLOGIES IF A VIDEO ISN’T AVAILABLE IN YOUR COUNTRY
1 Stereo Total- Methedrine (923)
More cool French stuff, “We were so high, 9 days a week”, they sing. French torch music for the fag end of 2019.
2 Sandra Cross – Sound System Girl (900)
From mid year. Exactly what it says on the box and wonderful for it.
3 The La De Das – Come Together (225)
Check them out on our live clip this week too . This NZ 60’s /70’s band around from the mid 60’s to the mid 70’s cover the gamut of garage and blues rock of that period and this is quite possibly the best cover of Come Together out there. Almost as good as the original. If this sort of thing is your bag we really suggest you go on a you tube explore of this band
4 Spooky Bizzle – Haunted Joyride (47)
Best grime artist name we’ve heard in ages ! The tune is more digital than your usual grime fare. We’re a bit hooked.
5 The Woolen Men – Mexico City Blues (157)
Always a good day when Portland’s finest WM release a new tune. US suburban indie at its best.
6 Pyscho Comedy – Standin’ (197)
Talking about a good day. The best band out of Liverpool for ages have a new one out. Slowly they are turning into a UK version of Thee Oh Sees but with songs that have a message.
7 Nothingheads – Topsy (4)
Excuse the pun but we know nothing about this lot ,but if you like Snapped Ankles and their ilk this is worth a listen.
8 The Hustler – D*O*O*S (297)
An updated Kwaito tune that bizarrely sounds a bit Belgique newbeat. Not sure what’s going on but we like it here at BOP.
9 Itchy Bugger – Bong On (266)
From Sydney, that’s about all we can tell you. Great DIY video and a song about bongs. What more can you ask for?
10 Ervinna – Goyang Reggae (Indonesia, 1978) (834)
And we finish off the week with a 70’s Indo cover of Night Fever ! Disco reggae that’s up there with Althea & Donna.
