It’s hard to feel any sense of permanence when the seasons are constantly changing. I love the interplay between landscape, weather, and emotion.
On my new single, “The Fault Lies,” I leaned heavily on barren images and vast amounts of space; the distance between things. Emotions – like the seasons – are something we all experience, but they are also extremely individual.
Shifting seasons present stark and beautiful backdrops for changing love.
The movement from loss and regret to unapologetic acceptance draws heavily from both of my self-acknowledged wells of inspiration – heartbreak and landscape.
Heartbreak & Landscape, my debut album, is set for release next year.
