APOLOGIES IF A VIDEO ISN’T AVAILABLE IN YOUR COUNTRY
1 Vibronics – Jumping Sound (Feat. Sandra Cross) / Jumping Dub (291)
It won’t change the world but it reminds me of walking under the Westway and through the market stalls on a Saturday morning with the bass of something like this pumping out of Honest Jon’s.
2 Frank Cornilius – Computer Games (669)
We’re on a bit of a robot, computer, vocoder tip this week!
3 The Rotary Fifth – Sun Salutations (166)
Sun Salutations is featured on the upcoming E.P Automata which is due for release on 20th January 2020 according to the PR. Pop creepy in a nice way. We”ll be making sure we check in when the full ep is out in Jan
4 The Ceramic Hobs – Hong Kong Goolagong (452)
It’s the ceramic hobs, who knows what it all means. Probably not even them ! If you remember the Birthday Party and Manchester cult band the Inca Babies that’s the sort of territory we’re in here.
5 Deli Girls – Real Scum Hides (528)
They don’t sound very happy and neither do their synths.
6 Jack Name – Running After Ganymede (116)
Starts with an owl or at least an instrumental impersonation of an owl. That’ll do for us. Otherwise it’s a baritoney electro dark folk number. Is that a genre? It is now.
7 Chubby & The Gang – All Along The Uxbridge Road (200)
It’s noisier than the Watchtower, is the Uxbridge Road.
8 Caedmon – Ouagadougou (17)
Our favourite of the week ( and it’s a year old now) This UK psych folk outfit released a private press many moons ago. This is from, either their ,2nd or 3rd release. To be honest we aren’t quite sure. Has a wonderful sound that somehow combines their folky leanings with ska and highlife. Great tune.
9 Tony Llewellyn – Pick You Up (House Dub Mix)(354)
Nice organic house tune that really does have a balearic feel about it. It’s a long hot smoky summer here in Sydney, this takes us back to those days of yore when the sky used to be blue.
10 Riccardo Wolf – Hot Trash (84)
All we can tell you about this almost proto Prince tune is that it was released in 1978. And here’s the cover with Riccardo giving us an idea of what one Jim Morrison would have looked and probably sounded like if he’d got through to 1978.
