Bob Dylan’s first new song in 8 years is about the JFK Assassination and it’s’ cultural aftermath. If anyone should know how to recreate a diaphanous poetry-slam vibe of art, politics and loss beginning at 12:30 pm on November 22, 1963 and continuing to the present, it’s Bob Dylan. He does so with pastoral delicacy and the wisdom of the ages in this 17 minute tearjerker. It’s too early to say “Timeless Masterwork,” but the words “Haunting Elegy” are sincerely appropriate.
“I’m just a patsy like Patsy Cline…”
