My newest single, “Less or More,” was inspired by the loss of inspiration – losing sight of a dream, a dampened spirit, and the journey you take to find yourself again.
The desire to reach for this dream, that all the mundane tasks are worth something, that even when I am not here, I still need to move myself towards what I’ve been striving for this whole time.
Otherwise, I’ll self sabotage.
The bridge is a reflection on childhood & growing up, colourful memories that are full of life – laughter and tears and all that feeling. In that moment of reflection, after feeling lost and dull and a little directionless, I speculate that there was more life there (back then) than I have found anywhere.
ModMaxx produced “Less or More,” building around my piano riff. This recording experience was particularly cool – it happened in phases and is the first song we’ve ever had professionally mixed.
Despite some sad lyrics, I hope you feel enchanted when you listen to “Less or More” – like you’re skipping alongside a river in your own little fairytale.
