Was Ruth Bader Ginsburg full of hubris or lacking common sense? I think both. WTF? by Mark Erickson

Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, a pioneer in the women’s rights movement and the second woman appointed to the U.S. Supreme Court, died Friday at age 87 due to complications of pancreatic cancer.  She was a survivor of previous battles with cancer.

I have read that Justice Ginsburg could not get a job with a law firm upon her graduation from law school, due to her status as a woman.  In this connection, Justice Ginsburg once said, “All I can say is I am sensitive to discrimination on any basis because I have experienced that upset.”

She became a law professor, first at Rutgers University and later at Columbia. In 1980, President Jimmy Carter nominated Ginsburg to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. In 1993, President Bill Clinton nominated Ginsburg to succeed Justice Byron R. White. She was confirmed by the U.S. Senate 96-3.  As the accolades and praises roll in, they speak of her role regarding gender equity.

This is where I am compelled to disparage Justice Ginsburg.  As I previously wrote years ago:

Justice Ginsburg should have retired without a doubt after America re-elected President Obama.  Was Ginsburg full of hubris or lacking common sense?  I think both.  WTF?  Today, I am so angry at her complete lack of vision!  I know she was a champion of females, but to think….IF #45 is re-elected, he will stack the court with yet another pro-lifer.  How does that make any sense, Justice Ginsburg?  Rowe v Wade will be overturned via a torturous, twisted interpretation of a case in the bottleneck.  Champion of women:  I scoff.  The complete lack of foresight will overshadow all of her accomplishments.

The death of Justice Ginsburg is yet another reason to cast a ballot (VOTE!!!) against the incumbent.
