Last year, the 17-year-old singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist shared a snippet of the new track on TikTok, and it has already generated 786K views, 130K likes, 1.5K comments and 2.3K shares. The full version illustrates her rapid progression as a songstress and as an artist. Lyn updates the classic children’s nursery rhyme “Itsy Bitsy Spider” as a hypnotic guitar-laden bop meant to instantly transfix as it crawls along.
Of “Itsy Bitsy,” Lyn says, “The entire thing started as a little TikTok series where I take nursery rhymes and make darker rewrites of them, and ‘Itsy Bitsy Spider’ was the first nursery rhyme I rewrote.
