CARMEN DELEON UNVEILS OFFICIAL VIDEO FOR “PASADO” FEAT. CALI Y EL DANDEE

In the official video for her new single, “Pasado” featuring Cali y El Dandee, Carmen DeLeon finds herself on a road trip with the Colombian pop-urban brother duo (comprising Alejandro Rengifo and Mauricio Rengifo) – but still haunted by memories of her ex-boyfriend. DeLeon did a live chat on YouTube and an Instagram Live with Cali y El Dandee prior to today’s YouTube Premiere of the video, which was shot in Miami and directed by Bello. Released last week by Capitol Music Group and Universal Music Latin Entertainment, “Pasado” (which means “past”) sets DeLeon’s gorgeously raw vocals to a powerfully swinging beat with Cali y El Dandee adding a poignant, soulful verse. Mauricio Rengifo and Andrés Torres, who have produced multi-Platinum hits like Luis Fonsi’s “Despacito,” produced “Pasado.” To date, Cali y El Dandee have amassed more than five billion combined streams and exceeded 10.7 million monthly listeners on Spotify. Their YouTube channel has generated more than 2.4 billion views.

Featuring “Pasado” in its most recent round-up of the best new Latin songs, albums and videos, Billboard observed, “With her powerhouse vocals, the Venezuelan-born newcomer and Colombian pop-urban duo bring to life a danceable popetón with hints of electronic music.” PLNKWIFI said, “It’s time to leave any and all bad vibes in the past. Why, you may ask? Because Carmen DeLeon is back with her new banger ‘Pasado’ that’s why!…‘Pasado’ is here to encourage us to fill our lives with people who truly value us.”

“Pasado” follows DeLeon’s early 2021 single, “Cafécito,” a bittersweet track that she wrote in memory of her grandfathers, and Juegas, her collaboration with acclaimed Colombian artist FEID. The nineteen-year-old artist joined three-time GRAMMY®-winner NE-YO on “Shake,” a dance-floor anthem from DJ/producer L.L.A.M.A., who was recently introduced by Universal Music Group’s Astralwerks label and the LEGO Group. DeLeon’s interpretation of The Crystals’ 1962 hit, “He Hit Me (And It Felt Like A Kiss”) – penned by Gerry Goffin and Carole King – was featured in the film Promising Young Woman and can be found on the accompanying soundtrack.

Born in Venezuela and now based in Miami, DeLeon has amassed over four million streams since she released her debut single,  “Volverás,” less than a year ago. Wonderland noted, “Sharing her struggles with anxiety, the highs and lows of these uncertain times and how it’s okay not to be okay, DeLeon brings her Latin roots to the fore on the laid-back tune, reminding us all exactly why she’s a force to be reckoned with.” Euphoria said, “Carmen DeLeon commands the world as her stage with fiery gusto and an undeniable sense of positivity.”
