Gøran Skage aka Evran, is a Bergen-based producer & artist. With a distinctive voice and melancholic songs, he invites listeners into his landscapes of sound. He creates an atmospheric universe topped by soaring guitars, ethereal synths and emotional melodies.
After a year spent writing, producing, and participating in the Norwegian version of The Voice, Evran is releasing the second track from his upcoming LP, A Perfect Day.
The track is written, recorded, and produced by Evran himself in his home studio in Bergen, Norway. The track came from four chords and a fever dream of weathered lost souls, tied to the ground, unable to move on. The lyrics later described an allegory of equality, and the feeling of not being seen or heard, most noticeable in the chorus lyric “Letting go of everything when the daylight shines on all of us”
The lyrics come from a personal place in Evran’s life. He struggled for a long time with self confidence in his songwriting. He would not share his songs with anyone, and then felt left behind and ignored when others received recognition for their music. This was a destructive mental loop he managed to break free from in 2018 when he started this project.
The anticipated LP’s release date is set to early spring 2022. He hopes to release a followup album later in 2022 that will merge with the first and turn it into a double album titled A Perfect Day, Forever Ago.
