This is an incredibly fun punk pop tune, as it should be. No one should fear the good health which comes from a plant-based diet.
Whalien will perform in Portland at Starday Tavern on April 10th, and at Goodfoot Lounge on April 16th.
East Portland Blog has been known to frequent at least two of Portland’s many fine vegan restaurants and would like to take this opportunity to invite the members of Whalien and anyone else interested in excellent plant-based dining to visit East Portland’s Off the Griddle restaurant on Foster Road or The Native Bowl (excellent food trucks found on Mississippi Street and downtown), These are two true gastronomical treasures of veggie Portland.
Formed in the summer of 2017, Seattle band Whalien found immediate success in the PNW music scene. The band won the Summer Meltdown Showdown in the spring of 2018, winning a spot alongside artists like Lettuce, Greensky Bluegrass, and Big Gigantic at Washington state’s Summer Meltdown Festival. Since that time the band has performed relentlessly around the west coast, developing a reputation for high-energy live shows, and an identity based on originality that invites listeners to dance, and live in the moment. During the Covid-19 pandemic they began work on their upcoming album, ‘For Realien’ set to release in April of 2022.
