NEW YORK, NY (June 21, 2022) – Gaining momentum with the steady release of new music, 24-year-old singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Kira Kosarin unveils a new music video for “goodbye & thank u” via Republic Records today. Watch the “goodbye & thank u” music video – HERE. The song sees Kira nostalgically say goodbye to a chapter in her life before welcoming a new one. “I wanted to write an ode to the first home that I moved into on my own, because it felt like a main character in my life through my early 20s. Those walls saw me live through so many firsts, held me through so many ups and downs and watched so many people come and go,” she says. “When I found that outgrowing and saying goodbye to an apartment could feel as bittersweet, intense, poignant, and heartbreaking as any other breakup – I poured all that emotion into this song and I hope it carries people through bittersweet and grateful goodbyes of all kinds.” The song follows the release of “parachute (plan b)” and “mood ring” earlier this year, which arrived as Kira announced her brand new deal with Republic Records via Billboard. A multifaceted artist, 24-year-old Kira Kosarin is first and foremost a singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist, who is ready to put her musicianship front and center. Known to many for starring roles on hit shows like The Thundermans, Kira grew up surrounded by the arts. Born on the East Coast, she hails from a musical theater family (her mother a performer, her father a music director) who fostered her love of the craft from a young age. Balancing music with acting after moving to Los Angeles more than a decade ago, Kira always found pockets and windows in which to write – lyrics, thoughts, melodies – whether between takes or in her rare off-hours from filming. In 2019, she released Off Brand, her first EP, anchored by the single “Vinyl.” Last year, “First Love Never Lasts,” from her follow-up EP Songbird, grew her existing fanbase (6 million followers on Instagram, and 30 million on TikTok) and vaulted Kira into the Top 10 of the iTunes Top Pop Songs Chart. Newly signed to Republic Records, Kira has spent the last year chronicling her intentional refresh and reset as an adult. The release of “mood ring,” “parachute (plan b)” and “goodbye & thank u” sets the tone for her upcoming project and finally introduces the musician the way she’s always wanted the world to see – and hear.
