Toronto-based rock singer-songwriter Eric Bolton announces the release of his heartfelt music video, “You.” “You” is from his debut solo album, Here Between, a 15-track project that highlights his journey towards self-discovery as he finds his voice and covers the complex topic of identity.
Bolton initially constructed “You” as a prayer, after a challenging day both physically and mentally. It was only after completing the track, he understood the true message behind his prayer to be an acknowledgement to fully allow his inner self to shine through and be present.
Filmed at the Cambridge Arts Theatre in Ontario, the music video finds Bolton on guitar joined by bandmates Daniel Walton also on guitar, Nathan Bulla on drums, Yeshua Cornejo on piano, Grant Gimpel on bass with Jessie T, Katy Topham and Matthew Campbell on backup vocals. Shot by videographer Nathaniel Deshpande and edited by Bolton, the “You” music video tells an emotionally charged story with the help of shadows that provide compelling contrast and unique camera angles.
Bolton’s album, Here Between, which was released in October, takes listeners along the artist’s personal pilgrimage of discovering his truest self and greatness within. Music critic Jacob Elyachar raves “fans would be in awe of his voice, which has shades of Bruce Springsteen and the late Chris Cornell. Rock music enthusiasts would be impressed with the instrumental arrangements throughout the album.”
