Electronic DJ / production duo TIBASKO return with a brand new stand alone release ‘Hawt’, out now through Another Rhythm.
Written and recorded in the span of one afternoon, ‘Hawt’ comes hot on the heels of the duo’s acclaimed debut EP released in October this year; showcasing TIBASKO’s musical progression and evolution that is thrilling in a way few of their peers can match.
They say: “‘Hawt’ was written on our recent debut US tour and we felt inspired by various sounds that we’ve been hammering throughout our time in there and throughout the festival season. We decided to spend a few days in LA in between shows to really get our heads down and finish some ideas we were sitting on. It’s pretty rare for us to finish tracks in one afternoon but creating ‘Hawt’ felt so natural – all the pieces of the puzzle fit perfectly in just a few hours. We couldn’t believe what we’d come up with, so much so that we knew that we had to get it out before the end of 2022. After releasing our 7 track ’Tibasko’ EP which showcased all the different aspects of our production, ranging from our more left-field tastes to electronica and techno influences, we wanted to make something that was going to lift people up on dance floors whilst bringing a little 00s nostalgia.”
Having played a series of festivals and shows this year including Snowbombing Festival (Austria), Hideout Festival (Croatia), Boardmasters (UK), Nass Festival (UK), Cultivate Festival (UK), Verve Festival (Switzerland), El Dorado Festival (UK), Parklife Festival (UK), Forbidden Fruit (Ireland), Secret Garden Party (UK) and Queens Yard Summer Party (UK), TIBASKO’s trajectory is on the rise.
The duo recently returned from their debut US tour having played the CRSSD Fall Festival in San Diego, California and Life Is Beautiful Festival in Las Vegas, Nevada. It has been a staple moment in their touring journey as they look to solidify their place amongst the strongest emerging electronic music artists to be breaking out of the UK.
Focusing on their new music and more live shows in 2023, TIBASKO’s eclectic menagerie of styles promises further intriguing shifts in tone as they aspire to reach a deeper emotional connection with their audience.
