Later share emotive piano-led indie bop ‘Woman’

Rising French alt-indie quartet Later are pleased to announce a brand new release with the arrival of ‘Woman’, out now through cult Paris label Cookie Records.

Drawing on a myriad of influences from pop, funk, rock, jazz and soul, the band conjure insatiable offbeat melodies coupled with introspective, wry lyricism. They say: “Woman is a piano-voice track that is intimate, powerful, and highly filled with emotions. The kind of song that gives goosebumps from the first seconds. As much for its musicality as for its message. The band explains: “the lyrics deal with the passion we can feel for someone that can sometimes turn to obsession and madness. It is as much an tribute to love as it is a real admission of weakness or even fear of relationships.”

About Later:

Théo plays the piano, Paul the guitar and the bass, Noah is on the production, and Charles-Marie sings. These childhood friends from the 9ᵉ arrondissement of Paris, became in 2019, Later.

Influenced by funk, pop and jazz, Later. seeks to make its public travel where everything is softer, more serene, far from the daily effervescence, a world in which dreams and reality merge.

In March 2019, the group was spotted by Kitsuné Musique, thanks to which they released their first single, “L.Y.E”. At Cookie Records, they signed two EPs, which they produced in their studio in the famous district of Pigalle. “On Time” and “The Daydream” receive the attention of several French national radio stations. On streaming platforms, Later. integrates many editorial playlists.

They are even described as Daft Punk’s next generation by the biggest French TV channel. Only one year after their debut, the duo Bon Entendeur released their track “Get up! ” on their first compilation. They then collaborate with rising rap star James the Prophet who lays his verses on “Highway 10”, a title shared on Twitter by astronaut Thomas Pesquet from space. 2 sold out concerts followed (La Boule Noire at the end of 2021 then Le Hasard Ludique at the beginning of 2022), before returning to the studio to compose the first album which will be released in March 2023 on Cookie Records.
