Here’s the latest from Populuxe, the greatest combo in the western hemisphere and a band known for mashing Piper-era Pink Floyd with 60’s garage pop and late 70’s Bowie. These guys have a plethora of noteworthy associations, including Nada Surf and Imperial Drag. Suffice to say the combined experience of the players extends from the biggest stages in the country to a broken strippers’ runway in a Northeast Minneapolis biker bar.
We love them like family and hope you do too. Their new album, Uneasy Listening, will be out 12/16/22. Their new song is called, “Nowhere Left to Go” and songwriter Rob Shapiro describes it in this way: “another true story. When the escape fails and history is irrefutable. The hardest conversation, confronting the failure and the empty gauge.”
The band has scheduled a live release show “Sideshow: Uneasy Listening with Populuxe”, running December 16-18 at Theater 68 in Los Angeles’ NoHo arts district. Here’s the poster with all the info:
And here’s “This Show is Closed,” the first single from Uneasy Listening (out 12/16/22).
