DAMOYEE IS A HOPELESS ROMANTIC ON NEW SINGLE “TO THE NEXT ONE,” AN ETHEREAL ALT-R&B SINGLE ABOUT  STAYING OPTIMISTIC IN THE FACE OF HEARTBREAK

DAMOYEE [Duh-Moi-Yay] – singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, producer and TikTok creator – has released a stunning melancholic, ethereal new single ‘to the next one,’ which details her heartbreak, while choosing to remain hopelessly romantic and optimistic.

This is the third single in the new era of DAMOYEE, whose stunning production skills, prolific musical talents and angelic voice set her apart from her peers, all the while working towards her degree from Berklee College of Music.  On this new single, you hear DAMOYEE top-to-bottom. The 22 year old Dallas native is flexing her skills by helming all of the instrumentation, production, and of course singing and songwriting. She plays electric bass, electric guitar, acoustic guitar, and synths on this song. The melancholic, bouncing alt-R&B track showcases her clever songwriting, ethereal voice and mastery of production, which bubbles and echoes in all the right places.  DAMOYEE told American Songwriter, who premiered the track today, “The song is really about what seems to be a never-ending cycle of being broken hearted, only to realize too far in emotionally that we don’t share the same feelings.”

DAMOYEE continues, “I’ve had my share of failed attempts at relationships and bad luck finding true love, but I’ll never give up. For now, in my life currently, it kind of sucks being a hopeless romantic searching for true love and all the guys I’m surrounded by don’t want that. But being a hopeless romantic in general… I wouldn’t trade it for anything else. I’m optimistic that one day I will find true love. I will have my ‘happily ever after’.” At age 22, the Dallas native and soon-to-be Berklee College of Music grad has turned her dorm-room production and musical skills into a platform of over 200k followers on TikTok, earning her a coveted spot in TikTok’s Black Creatives program. Her rapid rise was profiled by Entertainment WeeklyNPR and Ebony. Her impressive and often hilarious videos quickly captured a vast new audience. In these videos she produces, plays over 16 different instruments, breaks down music theory, and generally shows off the range of genres she infuses into her content. Labors of love, some can take up to six hours to create. DAMOYEE has been experimenting musically since her early teens, exploring various projects and even self released an album at 16. She believes the past 3 years have been pivotal, honing her skills at Berklee College of Music, and exploring new music through Tik Tok music creations have led to her finding her sonic agency and truest musical self.
