(New York, NY) – April 12, 2023 – After generating over 500 thousand streams and 65 thousand Instagram Reels creations using the song, the UK-born twin brother DJ/production duo ALTÉGO (aka Michael and Lukas Fernandes-Pense) share the official music video for “Bling Bling” today.

The duo –who are known for merging musical extremes together to strike a balance between dancefloor-ready energy, pop universality, R&B drip, and hip-hop swagger– created an interpolation of Harold Faltermeyer’s original version of “Axel F” / Crazy Frog’s remake of the track with “Bling Bling”.
The music video, which features illustrations by Jeb Hardwick [Mariah Carey, Lamb of God, Offspring], shares ALTÉGO in an AI-style world; each image represents a memorable quality of an old sci-fi cartoon.
Even highlighting the bling bling in jewels and animals encrusted with gems.
Re: the video, ALTÉGO commented, “In line with the futuristic sound of BLING BLING, we decided to use ‘models’ of ourselves and modern technology to create a synth wave music video. The visuals perfectly encapsulate how the song references the 80’s while also giving us a glimpse at the future of dance music – all the while staying exciting and fun which is the ALTÉGO ethos!”

This approach has transformed the pair into a global phenomenon with north of 100 million streams, 4 billion-plus TikTok plays, and acclaim from Variety, Forbes, and many more.
Born to an Angolan-Portuguese mother and Austrian-Indian father, the guys grew up surrounded by music. Attending BIMM University, they explored their respective talents and unlocked another level of sonic synergy. As the world slipped into lockdown, the brothers completed their degrees at home. Restrictions eased by the end of 2021, and they started to upload on TikTok under the name ALTÉGO—inspired by Lukas’s old burner account alter ego “Logan ALTÉGO.”
The guys initially lit up TikTok with their mashup of Daddy Yankee and Lil Nas X, “Montero Gasolina.” Their Billie Eilish and Justin Timberlake concoction, “Cry Me A Lost Cause,” soundtracked one of Addison Rae’s videos—which spiked the view count again. However, “Toxic Pony” popped off as a global phenomenon in 2022, marrying “Toxic” by Britney Spears and “Pony” by Ginuiwine in a wild unholy matrimony. It eclipsed 73.2 million Spotify streams and cracked the Top 10 on the Billboard R&B Chart. Along the way, they inked a deal with Arista Records and only picked up the pace. Now, the duo elevate again with the 2023 single “Bling Bling.”
